Last updated: 25 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information SocioWhale collects when you visit sociowhale.com or work with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Who we are
SocioWhale (“we”, “us”) is a design studio. We run the website sociowhale.com. If you have any question about this policy or your data, email us at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Information you give us: when you use our contact form we collect your name, email address, the service you are interested in and your message. If you email us or become a client, we also receive the details, briefs and files you choose to share.
- Information collected automatically: like most websites, our server and security services record technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device, the pages you visit and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies: we use a small number of cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and send you a quote.
- To plan, deliver and invoice the design work you ask us to do.
- To keep the website secure, prevent spam and fix problems.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Legal basis
Where data protection laws such as the GDPR apply, we process your information because you asked us to (for example by sending an enquiry), because it is needed to perform a contract with you, because we have a legitimate interest in running and protecting our business, or because the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We only share information with service providers that help us run the website and our studio, and only as far as they need it:
- our website hosting provider, which stores the website and its data;
- Cloudflare, which protects the website and helps it load quickly;
- Google Fonts, which delivers the fonts used on this website (your browser sends your IP address to Google when it loads them);
- Google (Gmail), which we use to receive contact form messages and email you;
- payment providers, if you pay us online.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Your project files
Briefs, logos, images and other materials you send us are treated as confidential and used only for your project. We only show finished work in our portfolio if you have not asked us to keep it private.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and for no more than 24 months if you do not become a client. Client and invoice records are kept for as long as accounting and tax laws require.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, security plugins and limited admin access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, object to or limit how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, email [email protected]. We will reply within 30 days.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we rely on providers that offer appropriate safeguards for your data.
Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Links to other websites
Our website may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last changed.
